Married Lucille Phillips in 1918. Loving parents to nine children, Floyd, David, Lauree, Richard, Roosevelt, John Henry, Hattie Pearl, Lucille and Carrie. Uncle Coon worked for the Southern railroad in South Carolina and also was a building superintendent in the Bronx for many years.
